SERVICES

Referral Clinic

Women who are having a difficult transition during menopause can ask to be referred by their family doctor, nurse practitioner or doctor of naturopathic medicine to be seen in our clinic. Each woman, together with our doctor and nurse will design an individualized plan to manage her symptoms and enhance her health and well-being. Our doctors and nurse are all NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioners (North American Menopause Society).

Bone Strength Assessments

The Women’s Mid-Life Health Centre offers wrist/tibia ultrasound bone strength assessments. With this screening test you will learn about your personal risk for osteoporosis, receive information about osteoporosis prevention and ways to keep your bones healthy. You will receive a report with your screening results which you can take to discuss with your family doctor. This is not a Bone Mineral Density X-ray test. The ultrasound results can be used together with other clinical risk factor assessments as an aid to diagnose osteoporosis or identify your risk.

This service is at no charge to you, but any donation is gratefully accepted and a tax receipt is given for the full amount of $20.00 or more. Donations are used for on going programs.
