We're very excited about the new Menopause Guidebook produced by the North American Menopause Society:
- it's comprehensive in describing peri-menopause
symptoms, even those women don't usually recognize as being related (ie.
acne, hair loss).
- there's a great section on identifying women at risk of
disease such as breast cancer and osteoporosis with constructive advice on
how to reduce the risks.
- it reviews current therapies, herbal and
pharmaceutical, examining the evidence of their usefulness and safety as
well as side effects.
Also newly released is an Early Menopause Guidebook directed to those
experiencing menopause before the age of 45.
These guidebooks are available through us, the Women's Mid-Life Health Centre of
Saskatchewan at a cost of $20 each. Use our Guidebook Order Form or call 978-3888 to order.
August 2004:
- We're pleased to announce that Dani vanDriel has joined the organization as Executive Director. Expect to hear a friendly voice when you call the office
any weekday morning. She's here to help you with any inquiry about the
Centre. Should you phone and leave a voice message, Dani will call you back
on the next business day.
- As well, our name has officially changed! We are now the Women's Mid-Life
Health Centre of Saskatchewan Inc. Watch for changes to the web site and our
newsletter, Hot Flashes, under this new name.
